Bring some Hot Lava Drama into your dance vocab! This workshop is all about flow, muscular control, and adding some ba-boom to your va-voom! Any style of bellydancer can take these combos and make them their own, and all are welcome!

6:30pm-8:30pm Jillina “Truly Tarab”
Learn to connect your emotion to your motion. Explore and enjoy the art of dancing to rich Arabic tarab music. Translate the music with your body and express your feelings thru moments and gestures.
Saturday, August 24
12pm-2pm Kaeshi “Belly Dance Fans”
Fascinated by fans but don’t know how to use them? Then come and discover how the beauty of fan dancing can enhance your ability to mesmerize an audience. Kaeshi learned fan dance first hand from Chinese dance masters as a teenager, and toured throughout multiple cities in Australia dancing with the “Chinese Youth League.” Learn different hand holds, poses, dramatic accents, poses you can strike, plus a myriad of bellydance movements that work well with fan technique. Appropriate for 12-inch fans with 5-12 inches of fabric hanging off the edge. Please bring your own fans to the workshop. If you don’t have any, extra fans will be available for use.
2:30pm-4:30pm Margarita “Oriental Choreography”
Learn a fun, dynamic choreography to new oriental music. Get techniques on staging, musicality, expression and stage presence while enjoying authentic oriental music and movements.
Sunday, August 25
11am-1pm Louchia “Persian Pop”
Learn a happy, fun choreography featuring Persian aesthetics and style. This choreography combines classical and modern Persian dance movements, 6/8 rhythm, graceful lines, arms and hands, and unique Silk Road turns.
1:30pm-3:30pm Jillina & Khader “Drumtastic”
Fantastic & Exhilarating! This drum solo will explore intricate hip technique, various types of shimmies as well as challenge you on isolation technique. Learn how to control your body and translate the music through your moves.
4:00pm-6:00pm Kapua “Rock-a-Hula”
Voyage to the Hawaiian Islands circa 1950 and feel the magic of retro Waikiki! Relive the era where tiki culture was king and dance to the songs of the past. Come away with me as you learn basic hula steps followed by a fun, playful, rock and roll style dance routine. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
